This executive summary highlights research done by IDC to better understand the potential benefits of using Red Hat® solutions as opposed to using non-paid open source alternatives. IDC conducted a series of in-depth interviews with organizations currently using 3 products-Red Hat Enterprise Linux®, Red Hat Insights, and Red Hat Satellite. Study participants reported a 540% three-year ROI, 72% less unplanned downtime, and a 52% increase in security update speed, among other benefits.
